Ricky Zambrano, Youth Exchange Student "I was born at Lecheria, Anzoategui (state) in Venezuela on a Saturday, March 4, 1989. My parent's names are Jose Zambrano and Zaida Hadwan. My father is a Chemical Engineer. He has his own company that sells equipment to the petroleum industry. My mother is a General Doctor; she also took chef classes and was first in her class. I was my parent's first child. Two years after I was born, my brother Jose Daniel (15 years old now) was born, November 21, 1991. My parents tell me that the first year of my life I was a very hyperactive child and I also learn everything really quick.  They tell me I start talking when I was 8 months... well that's what they say. I started school when I was 3 1/2 years old; I was really messy in school. I was always getting into troubles because I was always running around.  I went to the Italian-Venezuelan school “Angelo de Marta”, which gave me a really good knowledge of the Italian language. But, please don't try to talk to me in Italian. I always liked subjects like math and physics; I represented my school on math Olympics. Making friends it's one of my best abilities and I have many friends.  During my last year of high school I was accepted to the three best colleges in Venezuela, which gives me the opportunity to decide where I wanted to go to college. I want to study Electronical Engineering. I've been practicing sports since I was about 6 years old. Swimming was my first sport. After that I started to practice Tae Kwan do (getting to green belt). Then I started to play indoor soccer. I'm a big soccer fan; I have been watching European and South American soccer ever since I can remember. My hobbies are hanging out with my friends, play some soccer, going to parties, movies and go shopping (even if it sounds girly). I have to add that my family and friends are everything to me. If I am any good at something it's because my dad did an awesome job raising me and building my character, and my mom gave me my craziness and my kindness, also my late grandmother played a big role in raising me and was the one that first told me I was meant to be a great person and a good man. I hope that she thinks I'm in the right track, and if I'm not, I'm sure when we meet again she will pull my ears for that. "
