Bob Bell speaks at the Hilton.
Bob Bell is the Director of Pre K Counts, a $14 million dollar, 4 year, public-private initiative that facilitates local pre-kindergarten partnerships among school districts, community-based providers and early intervention. Under Mr. Bell's direction Pre K Counts provides quality supports to over 30 communities across the state to solidify partnerships and provide quality pre-kindergarten in all settings. The goal of Pre K Counts is to align pre school curriculum to Pennsylvania early learning standards, share professional development opportunities, involve parents in their child's development, and educate business, education, legislative and community leaders about the value of quality early education to their community's future. Mr. Bell is also responsible for the research component of Pre K Counts. Through a four year study, impacting over 6,000 children, by the UCLID Center at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pre K Counts will identify components of local pre-kindergarten partnerships that are most successful in preparing children for school and for life.
Mr. Bell received his Masters in Education Administration from the University of Vermont. Before joining Pre K Counts Mr. Bell was Superintendent of Schools for over nine years in Epping, New Hampshire. During his tenure there he established a district-wide special education Medicaid reimbursement program and oversaw the construction of new schools and existing school expansion projects with total construction budgets in excess of $10 million dollars. He managed all aspects of a three town, collaborative school district and developed and implemented strategic planning for continuous improvement. In addition, he served as principle for over 20 years in Rutland, Vermont at Rutland Town School. Mr. Bell and his wife currently reside in Lancaster, PA.
