PA Gubenatorial Candidates visit Harrisburg Rotary

WHAT:

The Rotary Club of Harrisburg will team up with the Pennsylvania Press Club to hear from two gubernatorial candidates as the November election fast approaches.

WHY:

The Rotary Club of Harrisburg and the Pennsylvania Press Club will create an open forum for each candidate to present. Members of both clubs will have an opportunity to learn more about the candidates, their goals, and their positions on key issues.


 

Rotarians Enjoy Performances by State Street Academy Students

A Mid-Summer Delight

state-streetStudents from the State Street Academy delighted the Rotary Club of Harrisburg with musical performances on August 3, 2010 at the club’s weekly luncheon meeting. Speaking on behalf of the SSA was Dr. Richard Roberson, a member of the organization’s board of directors. Roberson, dean of arts at Messiah College, has a passion for teaching and sharing music and he strongly believes that SSA’s mission of music education will help expand children’s knowledge in a variety of subjects, improve test scores and bring joy.

Youth Exchange Student Lukas Kebschull gets jacket

lukas-jacketOn Monday, August 3, 2010, members of the Rotary Club of Harrisburg presented 2009/2010 Youth Exchange Student Lukas Kebschull from Germany with a special farewell gift: a letter jacket from Susquehanna Township High School, where Kebschull attended for nine months and lettered in golf and tennis. Attending the farewell presentation during the club’s weekly luncheon meeting were Kebschull’s host mother Greta Vreeland and counselor Dave Bedard. The Rotary Club of Harrisburg wishes Lukas Kebschull the best as he returns home to continue his high school studies in Germany and prepares for college and a future career in computer science.
