RYLA students attend the July 12th Rotary Meeting

Harrisburg-Rotary-RYLA-July2010Two RYLA ( Rotary Youth Leadership Camp at Messiah College ) students are pictured with Fred Hartman.  The student on the left is Marissa Liberacki, a student at Bishop McDevitt High School.

Her parents are Robert and Rebecca Liberacki. Marissa will be a Senior at Bishop McDevitt and is a member of the National Honor Society, the Future Business leaders of America, and the Student Council. She is a distinguished student winning several Science awards including placing first in the school science fair the last two years. Marissa was a member of the Rotary Youth Community Development Team.

The student on the right is Olivia Tae Krokonko, also a student at Bishop McDevitt High School. Her mother is Therese Krokonko. Olivia will be a Senior at Bishop McDevitt and is a member of the chorus and the Pro-Life and Christian Service Club. She has been involved in dance for 13 years and scouting for 11 years. Her favorite subjects are Religion and English and she enjoys volunteering at the local soup kitchen. Olivia was a member of the Rotary Youth Development Team.

   

Rotary Member Al Baker receives posthumous PA House recognition

On April 15 a resolution honoring the life of Colonel Alfred W. Baker (HR 742) was introduced as a noncontroversial resolution under Rule 35. The resolution offers tribute to the life and achievements of Al Baker, President and CEO of Pennsylvania Industries for the Blind and Handicapped (PIBH), who passed away on March 5, 2010. 100 Years! Harrisburg Rotary Celebrates Centennial with Tree Planting

The City of Harrisburg Arbor Day program and the Rotary Club of Harrisburg's Centennial Project tree planting ceremony at Riverfront Park.  Our own Robert Saline commemorated the celebration with the following:
