The Rotary Club is committed to helping students of the Harrisburg School District bridge the gap between available resources and the resources needed to continue their education beyond high school and become responsible and contributing professionals.

THE SWEET, SYRUPY DETAILS:

The annual Pancake Breakfast has grown to be the largest fund-raiser for the Rotary Club of Harrisburg.  All 2011 event proceeds will fund both post-secondary education scholarships for Harrisburg School District seniors and the homeless program in the School District which provides essentials and services to the homeless students in the District.  Over the past four years, the event has raised more than $90,000 for students of the school district.  Funds are raised through event day tickets, corporate sponsorships, individual donations, and raffles. This year’s event will feature a ‘Blind-Silent Auction’ with many exciting auction items including an Apple iPad.

Last year’s Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast project raised $15,674.42 for the Harrisburg School District’s Homeless Services program – with additional proceeds distributed as scholarships through the school district.

The event is planned and staffed by members of the Rotary Club of Harrisburg who come from many areas of Dauphin and Cumberland counties to help make this event a successful one each year.

In Summer 2011, the Rotary Club of Harrisburg celebrated its Centennial.  Since our founding in 1911, the Rotary Club of Harrisburg has been dedicated to doing good in the world – and the Harrisburg community.  With nearly 200 members, we are one of the largest clubs in the area. Our members include some of the region's most prominent business, professional, and civic leaders. We gather at weekly meetings and other functions to fulfill our commitment to the Rotarian ideals of friendship, fellowship, and service to others.
