The meeting was called to order at 12:15pm by President Barry.

A wonderful invocation was provided by Jeff Boswell.  Marion Alexander did her best to lead us in America the Beautiful.

Lots of Visiting Rotarians attended our meeting.  We had the privilege of having Joe Metz's son, Joe Metz Jr. at our table.  Joe recently graduated from Penn State University.  Congratulations to you Joe!

Next Carrie Wissler Thomas provided us with Rotarians in the news.  She announced that Dr. Pauline Wallin will be a participant in a Workshop sponsored by the Pennsylvania Psychological Association on June 17 and 18th at the Hilton Harrisburg.

Michael Hanes was featured in the Patriot News regarding an article about a collaborative film effort between the Whitaker Center and Jacques Cousteau's son .  Also, Rich Curl and Bridget Montgomery were featured in the Patriot News.

Jack Detweiler did a presentation on the Rotary Ecology Award.  A $500 scholarship was awarded to Anna Marion for her project on the Land Development Affects on the Latorte Stream.  Her presentation was recently done at the Whitaker Center Science Fair.

Next Peggy Grove awarded the Annual Scholarship.  There were 22 applicants this year.  She stated that it was a very talented field.  The four winners were Iesha Goodwin, Raven Black, Nicole Harris and Thais Ridgeway.  Interesting that it was all females that won this year!  They all seemed to be very talented.

Carolyn Dumaresq introduced two new members of our club.  They are Jim Brock and Anthony Worrell.

The program today was presented by the CEO's of the 2008 Central Pennsylvania Best Places to Work .The awards were presented to Mike Horgan from J. P. Lilley and Anson Flake from Hydroworx.  Mike was unable to attend the meeting due to health problems.  Anson told us why it was important to him to be among the Best Places to Work in Central Pennsylvania.  Hydroworx is located in Middletown, Pennsylvania and currently has 35 employees.  All of the employees are ex-athletes.  Hydroworx is a manufacturing and service company specializing in Sports Medicine thru water therapy.  Some of there customers are the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins, the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Flyers, NASA, Navy Seals and the N.Y.Giants.

The business was started in 1994 with ten patients and has grown to 15,000 patients.  Very impressive!  With 15,000 patients, it is critical with only 35 employees that they be motivated and positive about what they do.  The award is based 2/3 on an employee survey and 1/3 on an employer questionnaire.  Each year Hydroworx donates a therapeutic pool to a family of need.  This is their way of giving back to the community.  Also Hydroworx provides full family heath insurance to each of their employees.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:10 p.m.
