Harrisburg Rotary was off and running with the opening bell by President Garry Brinton at 12:10 p.m. on the official last full day of Winter. Howard Ammons led us in "God Bless America" , a prayer, and the pledge to our flag. Gib Parthemore introduced several prospective new members (guests of Rotarians) who are considering membership with our great
club. Birthday greetings go out to Christopher Markley, Paul Mahoney and Lou Grammes who are celebrating this week.

Ron Guss was called upon to introduce our Youth Exchange Student, Ricky Zambrano, from Venezuela in South America. Ricky is a seventeen year old son of Jose Zambrano and Zaida Hadwan from Lecheria, Anzoategui (state) in Venezuela, South America. His father is an Engineer and his mother is a doctor. He is a student at Central Dauphin High School. Ricky is
a typical teenager with interest such as sports, parties, movies and shopping.
He gave a brief overview of his country, Venezuela. He presented a flag of Venezuela and described the significance of the flag's gold, blue and red colors and seven (7) stars for the seven founding states. The petroleum business is the largest industry, while the country's government boast a 93% literacy rate and 96% of the population are Roman Catholic.
He told us he is happy with his choice of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania as a host site and has several "girls" who are "friends", but no girlfriend yet. The club presented him with a birthday cake, since he recently celebrated a birthday.
