The meeting was short and sweet! The meeting was called to order by President Carrie Whisler Thomas at 12:15 p.m.
Another delicious Rotary meal was served to one and all. Today's meeting was possibly the shortest ever, however, rich in content.
The meeting started with greetings to all our visiting Rotarians and Guests. Today, there were no visiting Rotarians, only one guest. Next on the list, we celebrated three birthdays, Harry Yaverbaum, Bob Saline, and David Morrison. Also noteworthy, congratulations to several Rotary anniversaries. Most noteworthy were Heath Allen, 54 years and Connie Siegel, 44 years. Congratulations Connie & Heath!
Next there was a mini -classification speech by Jason Hicks. Jason is employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He works for the Office of Procurement. Jason basically shops for a living. His purpose is to save the taxpayers money. Way to go Jason!
Last on the agenda for today was the Annual " Service Above Self " Award. One thing for sure is that a lot of people give selflessly of their time and resources. Second place was awarded to Russell & Patricia Bricker for their valuable work with the Channels Food Network. Russell & Patricia have volunteered their services for the last 18 years. First prize was awarded to Lauren Rudick for her service work with the YWCA. Lauren has been a volunteer for the past two years and commits almost 60 hours per month. Thanks to all who were considered for the Service Above Self Award for all of their commitments.
The meeting was concluded at 12:45p.m.
